How It All Began
The year was 1953. With only a few days left before Saraswati Puja, a group of teenagers in Saidabad decided to organize their own small celebration — spirited, simple, and full of dreams.
Unable to agree on a name for their receipt books, they approached local shopkeeper Ananta Kumar Das, who suggested "Ujjal Sangha" — a name unanimously embraced and carried forward for over seven decades.
From Saraswati Puja and street football to district tournaments, a children's park, gymnasium, free coaching classes, and a cricket coaching institute — the club has grown quietly but steadfastly, always putting community first.

Our Milestones
Founded during Saraswati Puja by a group of young men. Named 'Ujjal Sangha' by Ananta Kumar Das.
Club revived; adopted its orange flag and logo crafted by Shital Mistri.
Inaugural annual sports competition held on Republic Day (26 Jan) — a tradition continuing today.
Secured first permanent club room at Shyamdas Babaji's Akhara, repaired with lottery proceeds of ₹0.19.
Received official government registration under Reg. No. S/45652, Act XXVI of 1961.
Inaugurated Shaheed Nalini Bagchi Shishu Udyan — a children's park for Saidabad's youth.
Club room fully renovated at ₹55,000 raised through the Millennium Lottery.
Gymnasium built with ₹5 lakh state grant; football ground leveled, flood-lit, and walled.
Saidabad Cricket Coaching Institute launched on the club ground.
Sports We Play
Our teams compete in Murshidabad District first division football, district volleyball, and Under-13 / Under-15 / Under-18 cricket competitions.
